Minutes from August is approved and accepted. Unanimous.

Non-profit status for NorCal Division --
Paul and Janel have done research. There is substantial costs if NorCal goes alone to get non-profit status, and without clear idea
why, it may not be worthwhile. Optioning in with the USFA umbrella program will occur sometime next season.

Susan Keyes will communicate with USFA on possibly being a non-profit 501(c)(3) status.

By-laws revision --
Susan Keyes and Rick Adamson have looked at the revising the by-laws. Proposals for revisions will commence with Keyes and Adamson submitting a slate of issues to modify. Expect by end of March (formerly end of January).

Reimbursement for mailing expenses.
Motion to reimburse Susan Keyes for all expenses related to the late September mailing. Seconded, passed. Unanimous.

Proposal to set up a budget for next year.
Motion to create a budget for anticipated expenses and revenue for next (and all future) season(s). Motion passed. Unanimous. Del Mastrangelo will create a budget for next season based on the list of allowable income and expenses as itemized on the USFA financial report form.

Proposal to provide financial support for recent RYC.
Motion (Mitchum): NorCal will contribute $1000 to RYC "A" revenue provided the Bay Cup contributes $1000 to RYC "C". This expense by the NorCal division is a ONE-TIME payment and should not be construed that the division will contribute in any future occurrences. Seconded by Chuck. Unanimous. Greg Massialas recused from voting.

Next executive committee meeting: March 30, 2002 at 4:00PM

New items:
Proposal on revising the tournament format for subsequent division required events. Motion (Mitchum): Propose that all foil division events be run with one round of pools and then direct elimination with no repechage, but includes a fence-off for all ties in a qualifying position. Motion seconded by Massialas.

Amendment (Lucasey) The DEs should include repechage. Seconded (Keyes). Amendment defeated, 3-2 opposed.

Original motion passed 3-0.

Consider offering $100 to winners for the JO qualifiers and Division. No action yet.
