Marty lives in San Francisco and operates her own web/graphics design company, Breaking Orbit. She began fencing at the ripe old age of 9, in Fort Knox, KY. She has two Kentucky state championships under her belt in foil and sabre which are but a distant memory. She continued fencing through high school, and then took a 15-year break. She returned to the sport three years ago, and is currently coached by Cole Harkness in both foil and epee. Active as a competitive fencer, Marty hopes to bring some new energy to the NorCal Division and to continue promoting fencing as a lifelong sport for everyone.

Samantha Ross lives and works in San Francisco, and is attending San Francisco State University for business. She formerly competed and has been a champion of several American Quarter Horse Association tournaments. After moving to San Francisco, she decided to try a new sport- fencing with saber. She fenced her first competitive season last year (2006-2007); earning a Bay Cup medal and a D classification before season's end. Samantha is taught by coaches Anthony Joslin and Tomek Amborski at Coastside Academy of Fencing. She is looking forward to getting further involved with fencing as the new Vice Chair of the USFA Northern California Division.

Last season's Secretary and the mother of youth fencer Turner Caldwell, Chloe's goal is to work with the Executive Committee to help improve the frequency and quality of communications with the Northern California Division members.
