Thinking of Becoming a Ref?

Or may be you need a Refresher?

Or may be you just want to understand better the rules of Fencing and the tough job of the Refs?

Here comes a great opportunity to achieve your goal!

This official 8-hour FOC Referee Training Seminar will be presented by Tomek Amborski, a rated International Referee, and also a FOC Certified Referee Instructor.

Such a Seminar is a mandatory step to becoming a Fencing Official.

Reserve Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 9:30am to 5:30pm and get a chance to visit the most recent addition to our great spread of clubs in the Northern California Division: the United Fencers of Oakland (UFO)  owned by Maitre d’Armes, Guillaume Bechaux.

This seminar is open to all fencers, parents, coaches and current refs. It includes a review of general rules, weapon specific rules and hands-on practical examples.

Note that all certified refs are expected to attend such a seminar every 2 years!

Please read the Rule Book and Study Guides beforehand as described in the page Become a Ref from the Fencing Officials Commission.

It would be great if some of you could bring your fencing equipment so that others can ref you.

This event is sponsored by the Northern California Division, allowing us to offer the Seminar at the very affordable cost of $10 if you register online at this Askfred link  and $15 at the door, if you just decide to show up on April 10.

For questions, please contact the host directly.

We are looking forward to your participation and aspiration to become a Ref. Don’t be shy and come share your passion for the sports of Fencing.
