Peter Burchard will be holding a one-day referee's clinic on Sunday, October 7th, 2007 at Halberstadt Fencers' Club. For those who have already decided that they want to earn their referees rating, this is a clinic that will prepare you for the written exam required to earn your rating. The clinic will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm with the written exam to follow. All participant are asked to arrive prepared to fence as well. You will be fencing and refereeing throughout the day so that everyone is able to get practical experience.

Participants are expected to have read the FOC's study guide (available on the FOC's website at www.fencingofficials.org). You are advised to make notes of questions that you may have about rules and their application or anything in the Study Guide that you wish to have clarification on so that those questions can be answered during the clinic.

The fee is $50 for each participant. The written exam can be proctored following this clinic for an additional $10 fee. All participants are asked to contact Peter Burchard to let him know of your intent to participate and/or to take the written exam.

About Peter Burchard

Mr. Burchard is an international referee and holds a 1-rating nationally. He travels extensively world-wide to referee for the USA in foil and epee. Mr. Burchard holds two fencing master degrees, has coached national championship teams twice, and as an athlete was twice a member of the World Championship team for the USA. He has been a member of the Fencing Officials Commission of the USFA for 15 years.
